Rex For A Reason is Fortify Alabama’s first-ever inflatable T-Rex race!

Junior Rex Race
Our youngest dinosaurs will kick things off with a short race designed just for kids. Tiny Rexes, tiny arms, maximum effort.

Adult T-Rex Race
Inflatable T-Rexes will compete in qualifying heats, with the fastest Rexes advancing to the championship race and a chance to take home the title of Rex For A Reason Champion.

Corporate Rex Challenge
Local businesses and organizations can send their bravest representative into the prehistoric arena for a little friendly competition and some serious bragging rights. One Rex will walk away as our Corporate Rex Champion.

And because running in an inflatable dinosaur costume apparently isn’t ridiculous enough, we’ll have a few T-Rex games along the way, including:

🦖 Last Rex Standing — It’s freeze dance…with dinosaurs. Last Rex standing wins.

Every registered racer has the chance to compete for the coveted Golden Rex Award by raising money for Fortify Alabama leading up to race day!

Ask your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors — basically anyone who wants to support your quest for prehistoric glory — to make a donation at our Rex For A Reason fundraising page and select your name when making their donation.

The registered racer with the most donations credited to their name by 3:00 PM on race day will take home the Golden Rex Award and some pretty serious prehistoric bragging rights.

Both Junior and Adult Rexes are eligible.

T-Rex Costume Requirement

All racers must compete in a fully enclosed, inflatable T-Rex costume in the traditional upright T-Rex style. Costumes may be any color or design, and both adult and child-sized versions are welcome.

Other inflatable dinosaur styles, ride-on costumes, partial costumes, or non-inflatable costumes will not be permitted for the race. We want all of our Rexes working with the same tiny-arm disadvantage!

Need a costume? Racers have two options:

Bring Your Own Rex: Purchase or bring your own qualifying inflatable T-Rex costume. See an example of the required costume style

Get Your Rex Through Us: When purchasing your race ticket, select the Race Registration + T-Rex Costume option. We’ll order your costume for you and have it ready for pickup at the event.

Whether you race, sponsor a Rex, cheer from the sidelines, or just come to watch grown adults attempt basic physical tasks with three-inch arms, you’re helping support the work of Fortify Alabama.
